Are your taste buds ready for Maruso Ghost Pepper Black Bean Soy Sauce? Recognized as one of the finest soy sauces in Taiwan, Maruso’s traditional sauce is all fired up with one of the world’s hottest peppers: the ghost pepper. Although the ghost pepper is typically hot, when it is fermented with black soy beans, the heat reduces and is no longer overwhelming. Immediately, you’ll notice what sets Maruso apart from most other soy sauces—the thickness. This is not your average soy sauce; it’s made with black soybeans that have been fermented in terracotta clay pots to enhance a natural umami flavor. It is brewed in Taiwan from U.S.-grown, non-GMO Black Soy Beans. Because it’s brewed without wheat, this soy sauce is gluten-free. It is also preservative, MSG, and alcohol-free.
Its thick consistency and rich flavor makes it perfect as a condiment and dipping sauce. Enjoy Maruso’s on egg rolls, dumplings, and steamed vegetables or even hamburgers and pizza. As with other dark foods such as chocolate and red wine, soy sauce brewed from black soy beans has been found to contain higher levels of anti-oxidants—up to 10 times that found in an equal quantity of red wine.
Ingredients:
Water, Black Soy Beans, Sea Salt, Sugar, Rice, Ghost Pepper Powder. Packaged in the same facility as peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, sesame, and milk products.
