Great Northern Beans
Prepare to witness the greatness of our Great Northern Beans! One of the most versatile beans around, you can use these white beans in almost any recipe. Try them in soups, stews, casseroles, salads, dips, purees, and more. Great Northern Beans have a delicate flavor that is similar to cannellini beans, although they are smaller in size. Use them interchangeably in recipes that call for cannellini or navy beans. High in protein, see for yourself just how great these beans can be!
How to Cook Great Northern Beans
Soak the Great Northern Beans overnight. Drain and rinse the beans again before cooking. Place the beans in a large cooking pot and cover with a couple inches of water. Cook the beans, covered, over high heat until boiling. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 60 minutes. Season the beans with salt to taste, and allow to cook for an additional 30 minutes, making sure to stir them occasionally. Check for doneness and serve.
