Our mini dark chocolate chips come from a maker that champions fair-trade cocoa production, making them an ethical and satisfying way to top your favorite sweet. Our mini dark chocolate chips are gluten-free, organic, vegan and Certified Non-GMO. They also hold a Kosher Pareve certification.

Comes with about 4,000 chips per pound and are roughly 6-7mm in diameter.

More About Fair-Trade Cocoa

Cocoa trees are most commonly grown in Latin America where they are cultivated alongside papayas, mangos and other food crops. Ripe, colorful pods are picked from the trees and opened to extract the pulp-covered beans, which are then fermented for about five days. During this time, the beans begin to develop the signature flavor and color of chocolate. After the fermentation process, the beans are sun-dried.

The fair-trade cocoa used in our chocolate chips comes from beans supplied by farmers in Peru. These farmers are supported in their work producing high-quality cocoa through technical assistance from organic agronomists and tree nurseries. Fair-trade contributes to sustainable local development by offering better trading conditions and securing the rights of active producers and workers and complying with solid environmental, economic and labor standards.
