Organic Purple Corn Flour
Organic purple corn flour is no ordinary corn flour! Finely ground from an heirloom variety of corn native to the Peruvian Andes, this flour is truly special. Its unique purple color comes from a class of naturally-occurring antioxidants known as anthocyanins. Packed with even higher concentrations of antioxidants than blueberries, it’s no wonder purple corn was a staple of the Incan empire. Now you can experience the joy of purple corn flour in your very own kitchen. Organic purple corn flour is naturally gluten-free and non-GMO.
How to Use Purple Corn Flour
Organic purple corn flour is an ideal substitute for regular corn flour in cornbread, muffins, tortillas, pancakes, and other recipes. Simply use it as a 1-to-1 replacement for corn flour in these recipes. The flour can also be used to make Peruvian recipes like mazamorra morada (purple corn pudding) and chicha morada (a sweet purple corn beverage). Or, mix it into smoothies and soups for a boost of antioxidants in every sip.
I'm really excited that thanks to nuts.com I'm going to be able to make an ecuadorian traditional drink for All souls day (November 2th). Thank you for making it happen, I will be able to taste the flavour of home at least for one day.Jorge, Milpitas, CA
Normally I grow my own blue Indian corn to make sure I don't get GMO. I am getting knee replacement surgery in a week and don't know if I will be able to get corn in the ground this year. This will be my substitute for my blue corn bread.Terry, Laurel, MT
Nice corn flavor without the 'grit'. Of course, it's going to turn your pancakes purple! Nuttin' you can do about that! :)THOMAS, North Plainfield, NJ
