The Black Trumpet can be found growing in large groups in damp deciduous woods, especially under oak or beech, during summer and fall.

Black Trumpets: Soak 30 min in hot water. Take the broth and cook onions, diced eggplant, garlic, add some kale and the mushrooms later, and then add it all to cooked brown rice and a little garlic salt! It's like a rich risotto, full of all kinds of nutrients!! Even my husband (who hates mushrooms) loved it!Christine, Redding, CT
