Gluten-free Soy Protein TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) is made from reduced-fat soybeans and is used to replace or extend ground meats. It can also be added to casseroles to add extra flavor and nutrition. A great cooking tool for vegetarians offering a generous 12 grams of protein per serving. There are approximately 4¾ cups per pound.

We love Nuts.com's gluten free soy protein. I remember when I was a kid, TVP tasted like reconstituted papier mache. This product lends itself well to sauces, stews, chilis, pizza, good ol' Army mess hall hamburger gravy on biscuits, sloppy joe...you get the picture. i don't know how many five-pounders we've bought and consumed now, and we have no plans on 1) quitting being vegan, or 2) not buying Nuts.com TVP.
