Pecan meal is also known as pecan flour and is a delicious way to add the rich and hearty flavor of pecan to savory and sweet recipes. Add pecan meal into pie crust to add a nutty, buttery element to a sweet potato, pumpkin or apple pie. Imbue a bread recipe with density and complexity by substituting some pecan flour for regular wheat flour. Pecan meal also works as a coating for fish and chicken.

Its good and it adds some flavor in cookies cakes etc. The 4 star rating is that it did not deliver to me the same quality I would get if I finely ground pecans myself. The meal is drier, so I dont get the benefit of the oil in the nut. That doesnt make the product bad....its just personal taste. I could see using this for a tort or a lighter cake. My intent was a cookie recipe that calls for the flour. I had been using ground pecans and the recipe is wonderful. I decided to try the meal and was disappointed. I will use the meal in other things knowing now knowing it has limits in taste and texture.
