Not what I expected...but *dangerously* addictive, lol! I was looking for the hard candy version I used to get when I was a kid...the ones that were like smooth lemon balls but were red with a yellow stripe on them (they were called "sour cherry balls" at Andes Candies in Quincy IL back in the 70s...yes, the Andes mints company...and the sour apple balls were green with a red stripe, and just as good). Having said that...the flavor on these is GREAT, and because they are soft, you can just eat them one after the other, so NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO, you *have to* exercise discipline when eating these, or I swear you'll eat the whole bag at once. They're that good.

These Cherry Sours are the exact same ones I remember from my childhood. I grew up in both NJ and SC. It did not matter if it was a corner store or the neighborhood older person with the non licensed variety store in their house. Those Cherry Sours were always the same. Thank you nuts.com for having my childhood memories and tastes readily available to me! Smile!
