We like to think of our gorp (or GORP) as “gorp plus” because we added in delicious goodies like sunflower seeds, M&Ms and dried cranberries to make it just a little sweeter and energy-rich. Prep for the hike (literal and figurative!) with this satisfying and fortifying forefather of all trail mix.
What is GORP?
GORP is an acronym that stands for “good old raisins and peanuts” which was, according to some, the very first trail mix. Chocolate is traditionally included in most gorp. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t salty. True gorp! When I made it, it was always salty because I used products from a store. This is much much healthier and reduces my want to drink water more.
