Just what I was looking for. I needed the shells for a craft project and I love the taste of Black Walnuts. Outstanding product and will buy again.

Adds wonderful flavor

I never tried black walnuts before I usually buy English walnuts so I thought that I would give the black walnuts a try. I found out that they are extremely difficult to crack open I had to use my biggest robogrip pliers to crack it open and that really made a mess. I ended up giving them to the squirrels and they seemed to really like them although I don't know how they get them open. I have since watched some videos on how to open them and so I will probably buy them again so I will be able to give a better review next time.

My pet squirrel likes these and the super hard shell keeps her teeth from getting too long.

Most are excellent, but occasionally I get a bad nut. Guess that is the way it goes when the nut is inside the shell.

Definitely a great health factor

There aren’t any places we could get nuts in the shell. The packaging was very well done. The mailing box was really cute. Haven’t tried the nuts yet. Today.

Peanut, our over winter squirrel, loves these. She can smell the box abs can’t wait for me to open it. These are the freshest nuts. They come packaged nicely. We’ll be reordering for her as long as she’s around.

I crack these for my squirrel and my last couple of bags have contained several bad nuts.

They taste good when you can get them out of the shell!

These were delicious this order. I reorder these a lot and occasionally I get some that are bad but Nuts.com always makes it right. Will be ordering more I’m sure!

Can not crack these

I will not order in the shell again. They are hard to crack and messy. I am not paying that much more for the ones that are already shelled.

Squirrel is in the process of taste testing each one. Thus far, he loves and treasures these above all other nuts! I can’t blame him they’re great and super fresh!

I expected something like a regular walnut and realized these things are unbreakable, you need a hammer to open them and use a tool to remove the small pieces. I will stick with the regular walnuts

Love those black walnuts ever since I was a little girl and my Dad cracked them for me! I'm 87 in February.

Some were bad others were great

My husband, who has never had a black walnut yet grew up in the Midwest where they're common, loved these sprinkled on vanilla ice cream. Next I will try making these into black-walnut biscotti :)

too many rotten ones

Bad walnuts. Stale or something.

Bad choice on my part. It takes a hammer to crack these nuts. Very different taste to English Walnuts which are terrific. This is definitely a nut for connoisseurs.

These are the most delicious deeply walnut flavored walnuts that can be found! True to their reputation, they’re also the hardest shell to crack!

Shells way too hard. Had to use vise in garage to squeeze till they crack. Also don't care for the flavor. Not as good as English walnuts.

These lil tea cup coconuts I call them, only a squirrel can crack his name Lil Wayne. His fav a must must for us you guys r the only place Wayne likes that says a lot

I usually have access to black walnuts in the fall, but not this year. Am most pleased to find another source for excellent nuts, which also save sooo much work (hulling, cleaning, etc.) before we arrive at the cracking/shelling stage. The black walnuts which I have sampled are excellent!

My squirrel Lil Wayne cannot live without these he with goes ham on them everytime. He knows the sound of the bag & gets all hypy when he hears it coming.

Man are the shells hard to crack, nice and meaty

It requires a hammer to crack the shells on these Black Walnuts but the reward of the great tasting nut inside makes a wonderful snack you have to work a little for.

For my rehab squirrels. Even they work hard at opening them. Love the reward inside.

My backyard squirrels threw the black walnuts to the ground. To hard for them to crack.

They are great, but needed a vise to crack them!

These are nice, some were dried out and I couldn't eat them (about 5 or 6).

Anxious to get cracking these Black Walnuts

We haven’t opened these up yet, but on Sunday the Squirrels in our backyard will be given some to keep their teeth busy & hopefully letting the birds for the seeds!

It's very hard to open them and they have weird medicine taste. Not my cup of tea.

I forgot that we actually had these around our place, but my squirrel was still very happy to have fresh, new nuts!

never had these before very different

I haven't figured out how to crack these just yet. Back in the day, I would use a brick and a hammer but of course, those things were readily available. I just checked YouTube and there are so many suggestions. But I'm smiling because I know there is fun in getting them open and I know for a fact they are delicious. Thanks, Nuts.com.
