Organic golden flax seed is an extremely rich plant source of omega-3s, the essential fatty acids that protect the heart and reduce excess inflammation in the body. They are also an excellent source of dietary fiber, protein, and lignans to give your diet a major nutrient boost. Whole flax seeds have a longer shelf life than ground flax seed, although we recommend grinding them to increase nutrient absorption and gain the most health benefits. This golden flax seed is certified organic by CCOF.
Health Benefits of Organic Golden Flax Seed
Organic golden flax seed is extremely rich in omega-3 fatty acids, specifically alpha-linolenic acid or ALA, which reduces inflammation levels in the body and lowers the risk for chronic conditions such as heart disease and arthritis. Flax seed is also an excellent plant-based source of lignans, a type of phytoestrogens that may have anti-cancer properties. Animal studies suggest that the lignans found in flax seed may have protective effects against breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Golden flax seed is also high in dietary fiber, including both soluble and insoluble forms. Soluble fiber can help control blood sugar levels and reduce LDL “bad” cholesterol, while insoluble fiber supports a healthy digestive system. Per serving, organic golden flax seed adds five hearty grams of protein to your diet. The nutritional content of organic golden flax seed is very similar to that of brown flax seed.
How to Enjoy Organic Golden Flax Seed
The recommended serving of golden flax seed is 1-2 tablespoons per day. Organic golden flax seed has a nutty flavor that blends in well with other foods. Grinding flax seed is the best way to ensure your body maximizes absorption of its protective nutrients. Our flax seeds can be ground in a coffee grinder, spice mill, or food processor. Ground golden flax seed can be sprinkled into smoothies, cereal, pancakes, soups, and any other recipes you like. If you do not wish to grind them, the whole seeds can be added to salads, oatmeal, baked goods, and other foods for a great nutty crunch.
Organic Golden Flax Seed Storage
Store organic golden flax seed in an airtight container that does not permit light to pass through. Store in a cool, dark, dry location away from heat. Flax seed will last several months if properly stored.

I use a blend of dark and golden in my recipes. Not really sure there is a difference nutritionally, but I just like the way they look. Great for cholesterol fighting properties. I enjoy them almost daily.

Been adding to my morning cereal forever! I grind them up a bit and roast them at 250 for 15 minutes for ultimate nutrition. Sweet and delicious!
