Give white rice a rest with our slightly sweet and nutty-flavored Organic Sprouted Brown Rice. Sprouted to reach its maximum nutritional value, this tasty whole grain packs more magnesium, potassium and four times the amount of fiber than un-sprouted brown rice. It’s a great dinner go-to for a quick fill up that aids with digestion to boot. Use it as a white rice replacement with steamed veggies, stirred into a chicken soup or as a base for a tangy brown rice dish with lemon and garlic.
How to Cook Organic Sprouted Brown Rice
To cook, place rice and vegetable oil in large saucepan. Fry on medium high heat, stirring constantly until lightly browned. For one cup of rice, carefully add two cups of water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer 35-40 minutes. Do not stir. Turn heat off and let steam for 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
Sprouted Foods in a Nutshell
New to sprouted foods? Let us plant the seed for ya! In fact, each little granule of this product started out as seeds; think tree nuts, grains or legumes. Unlike the standard seed growing process, sprouted seeds are germinated, which means they’re soaked and rinsed until they grow small tail-like ends. At that point, enzymes within the plant are activated and the sprouted seed reaches its full nutrient potential; meaning it contains more fiber, protein and nutrients than unsprouted plants.

Yummy rice. Very versatile. I did not follow cooking instructions. I left out the first step of cooking in oil until browned. I used my 3 quart sauce pan; I rinsed the rice first (good amount of rice dust came out). Measured 2 cups of rice and 4 cups of water in the pan; did not soak; added 1/2 teaspoon salt; brought to low boil over high heat; covered pan; turned heat to low; set timer for 35 min. Turned off heat, set timer again for 15 minutes. The rice was perfectly cooked and fluffy. More volume than the Nuts.com Organic Long Grain Rice I normally use. Noticed that the rice seemed sticky, so I tried rolling into rice balls. Held together well. Had enough left-over salmon which I flaked into a little dried thyme that was almost powdered. Rolled the salmon thyme mix into small balls; rolled those into the center of rice balls. Rolled the balls into lightly toasted white sesame seeds. Set to chill. Excellent snack. Extra stir fried well. Cooked some of the left-over cooked rice with some scrambled eggs. Nutty aroma to the rice. Definitely worth a second purchase,
