Chocolate Date and Nut Bars

Recipe Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp chocolate syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup <a href="/nuts/walnuts/natural-no-shell.html">English Walnuts</a>, chopped
1/2 cup <a href="/driedfruit/dates/pitted.html">Pitted Dates</a>, chopped
1 tsp baking powder

Cooking Directions:
1.  Beat the eggs thoroughly, and gradually beat in the sugar. Sift the flour and baking powder. Add to the egg and sugar mixture and also add the chocolate syrup and vanilla. Then add the walnuts and dates. Beat together and spread in a greased shallow pan. Bake in a moderate oven 350 degrees for 25 minutes. When cool cut the cake and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
