Make a loaf of bread that’s just as American as apple pie with our sourdough bread mix. This tangy, savory bread was born out of the California Gold Rush, a staple among the camp of miners who traveled west and settled in San Francisco. We make creating a warm, golden loaf of sourdough at home a cinch with this simple mix. Compatible with bread makers.
**Please note that to make the traditional recipe, you must purchase at least two pounds of bread mix.

I love sour dough bread, and this mix makes it so easy. I get two loaves from one bag. I've added raisins, and chopped walnuts, yummy! I add one quarter cup sugar which helps the flavor. Hope the cost stays within my budget.

I made this today and found the flavor to be very sour. The texture was good. I had to do a little math to figure out how to use it with my bread machine. So if anybody wants to know, one whole package makes a 1 pound loaf. Use 8 ounces of water and 2 1/2 teaspoons of yeast and keep an eye on it as you may have to adjust the water a little by adding a teaspoon at a time. If you have to add more flour, just add a little bit at a time. The flavor is just OK.
