Tartaric Acid

Tartaric acid is mainly found in tart fruits such as grapefruit and unripe grapes, and is often used to help lower the PH in fermenting products. Tartaric acid is an essential component in wine and the main ingredient in cream of tartar. Winemakers use tartaric acid to get the perfect acidity for a smooth feel and bright flavor.
If you’re running low on cream of tartar, use 1/2 cream of tartar and 1/2 tartaric acid for the same results!
