Japanese Peanuts: A Surprising Origin
Ironically, Japanese-style peanuts originated in Mexico, not Japan. Also known as manà japonés or cacahuates japoneses in Spanish, this snack was invented in 1945 by a Japanese immigrant living in Mexico named Yoshigei Nakatani. To this day, Yoshigei’s addictive peanut creation continues to grow in popularity throughout Mexico and the United States.

These aren’t what I know has Japanese peanuts but we’re still tasty. I would give 3.5 stars. The ones I’ve had in the past were 4x this size and had a really crunchy coating. These are crispy rather than crunchy and just a little bigger than a peanut. Flavor is similar to the ones I know though.
