Our organic, unhulled sesame seeds are a golden brown color and call out for a leafy green salad or flavorful stir fry. Unhulled sesame seeds are a staple in Japan and have a unique and intense taste compared with hulled seeds. Our organic sesame seeds are grown naturally without pesticides.
What Are Unhulled Sesame Seeds?
Upon harvest, sesame seeds remain embedded in their seed coat, also known as a “hull.” Most sesame seeds sold in North America are sold “hulled” without the seed coating. Unhulled sesame seeds are consumed in Japan and are growing in popularity among natural food enthusiasts in the United States. Unhulled seeds have a crunchier texture compared with hulled seeds and may have a slightly more bitter flavor. For that reason, when baking something sweet that calls for sesame seeds, it’s best to use hulled seeds.

Wow. That’s a lot of sesame seeds! I love to add them to Asian marinated vegetables prior to roasting. I’m going to see what else I can use these in. I’m used to just buying a little jar at time.
