Diced Fuji apples are the perfect size for snacking. These naturally sweet dried apples are rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. Enjoy them straight out of the bag, or mixed with baked goods, trail mix, or oatmeal. They are approximately 1/4 inch dices.
Health Benefits
1) Dried Fuji apples are an excellent source of dietary fiber. Apples contain both kinds of dietary fiber: soluble and insoluble. Studies indicate that soluble fiber may lower LDL cholesterol levels and regulate blood sugar levels. Insoluble fiber supports the digestive system and prevents overeating. Both types of fiber are important for health and diced Fuji apples provide a hearty dose of each!
2) Flavonoids found in apples can reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, and other chronic conditions. There’s a reason for the old proverb, ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ Numerous studies indicate that eating flavonoid-rich foods like apples may lower the risk for developing cancer and heart disease. A 2004 study led by Cornell researchers found that quercetin, a specific flavonoid found in apples, may also protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
3) Diced Fuji apples are loaded with vitamin C and other protective nutrients. A serving of diced Fuji apples provides 10 percent of the Recommended Daily Value for Vitamin C. According to a 2002 study published in The Lancet, the quercetin found in apples has even stronger anti-cancer properties than vitamin C itself. The research suggests that a diet rich in phytochemicals and vitamin C may reduce the risk of cancer. Eating foods like dried apples is an excellent way to get both nutrients.
