Mangosteen Powder

Known as the “Queen of Fruits,” the mangosteen is renowned for more than just its taste. Mangosteen powder contains dozens of xanthones, sometimes known as “super-antioxidants.”
Taste and Uses of Mangosteen Powder
Mangosteen powder has a slightly bitter and tropical taste that is best mixed with other drinks or food. To enjoy mangosteen powder, mix 1-2 teaspoons in smoothies, teas, drinks, yogurt, or any other food. Our mangosteen powder is non-GMO.
What is Mangosteen Powder?
The mangosteen fruit is native to Southeast Asia and Oceania, and is traditionally used in some Asian folk medicines. It first became popular in Britain, in the mid-1850s. Because of the mangosteen’s unique, sweet flavor and fragrant aroma, many consider it the tastiest fruit in the world. The fruit grows on small evergreen trees, and its flesh is white, segmented, and juicy.
Our mangosteen powder is made, not from the mangosteen’s white flesh, but from its purple rind (known as the pericarp), which contains most of the mangosteen’s nutrients and its over-forty xanthones. Preliminary research has shown that xanthones’ antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties may help strengthen the immune system.
Health Benefits of Mangosteen Powder
1) A 2008 study published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences demonstrated the cancer-preventative effects of xanthones from the pericarps of mangosteen. The research found that specific xanthones in the pericarp inhibited cell growth and suggests that these xanthones may be useful agents in cancer prevention.
2) Mangosteen can reduce inflammation levels in the body, which lowers the risk for heart disease and diabetes. A 2009 study published in the Nutrition Journal found that drinking 18 oz of mangosteen juice per day for eight weeks reduced inflammation markers among overweight and obese individuals.
Incidentally, the mangosteen has nothing to do with another tasty fruit, the organic mango.

Mangosteen has been coined queen of the fruits. This is pure mango Steen.Lee, Greenbush, ME
Haven't tried yet but looks great. Large amount for lower price. Gave 4 stars because the bag it comes in, may be super cute, but found hard to close after a few uses with their powders. So investing in strong storge containers, as I will be ordering again. Did note shipping was a lot slower than it usually takes to get to me. But still pretty fast.DAWN, Newark, CA
