Turkish Delight (also known as Lokum), a genuine Turkish treat, is one of the most delectable sweets in the world. As seen in the movie, “The Chronicles of Narnia,” this candy is covered in powdered sugar. Our Turkish Delight is made by the Turkish company Hazer Baba.
What is Turkish Delight?
Turkish delight is a soft and sweet gel-like confection, often lightly dusted in powdered sugar. Many varieties contain pieces of pistachios or hazelnuts, and may be flavored with rosewater or citrus fruit extract. Legends about the origins of Turkish Delight abound. Many involve a sultan of Turkey who ordered his royal confectioner to create a scrumptious delicacy, either to please his many wives, or because he was tired of hard candy and wanted something softer. Turkish Delight was introduced to Europe during the 19th century, and has been enjoyed by adults and children ever since.
Special Narnian Treat
Turkish Delight is perhaps best known for its starring role in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, part of the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. In the book, the evil White Witch conjures a box of Turkish Delight to tempt one of the characters, Edmund, into betraying his siblings. Edmund cannot resist the savory Turkish Delight, which “was sweet and light to the center.”
There are approximately 16-25 pieces per box.

Satisfying without being overwhelmingly sweet.Meg, Saint Louis, MO
In the lion the witch and the wardrobe a little boy betrays his siblings for this stuff. I tried it because of curiosity. It tasted of tears and disappointment. Why does literature talk about this stuff like it's something you would sell your soul for? I threw it away.Tracy, CLEBURNE, TX
