Make your favorite traditional Mexican dishes at home with our white hominy! These dried corn kernels are prepared using a time-honored process that involves soaking the kernels in an alkaline lime solution. This process, known as nixtamalization, softens their outer hulls so that the corn can be used in different recipes. In Mexico, atole is a popular beverage in which hominy is cooked with water and milk. Try your hand at atole de chocolate, or use our white hominy in soups, or finely ground into masa harina flour for baking.
How to Cook White Hominy
White hominy can be prepared just like dried beans. To prepare 1 cup of dry white hominy, soak the maize kernels overnight. Drain well and add fresh water to cover the hominy in a pot. Bring to a boil, and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for about 90 minutes to 2 hours. Drain well and incorporate the hominy into your favorite recipes.

Need no salt option for hominy this works beautifullyBernadette, Clatskanie, OR
I was a bit disappointed - I wanted traditional whole hominy, but this seems to be pieces. It did not have the characteristic flavor/aroma, which is usually almost floral in nature. I would not order this again.Robyn, Danby, VT
Grew up eating a dish called posole. Where I live it's hard to find the dry hominy I need to make it. I use this with all the ingredients for my recipe and it tastes just like home.Venesa, Maryville, TN
