Dried De Arbol Peppers (Stemless)

Dried de arbol peppers (stemless) are a very hot Mexican chile related to the cayenne pepper. They have a spicy, smoky, grassy flavor. Throw a couple pods into dishes like salsa, chili, soups, vinegars, hot sauce, or any dish that could you some extra heat. If you want to lessen the heat remove the seeds to tone down your dishes.
Dried de arbol peppers comes from a treelike lush plant and the peppers are very bright red even after they are dried. In fact, de arbol translates to treelike in Spanish. The chile originates from the central valley of Mexico, Jalisco, and Nayarit. When you handle this chile, we recommend you avoid touching your eye and make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after preparation, as the oils from the chile are very potent.
