Brown & Wild Rice Blend
Brown & Wild Rice Blend is one of our most popular side dishes.
3 tbsp. veg. oil
2 cups water or broth
1 cup rice (salt & pepper to taste)
Place rice and oil in large saucepan. Fry on med. high heat stirring constantly until lightly browned. Carefully add the liquid. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer 35-40 minutes. Do not stir. Turn heat off and let steam for 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.

I made a bed of brown and wild rice under a couple pieces of seasoned chicken, adding chicken broth ( 2:1) , and baked it, covered, for 40 minutes at 400°. I finished it off with chopped parsley. It was tender and tasty. I wish Nuts.com put the cooking directions on the label!Pamela, Covington, LA
