Whole anise seed (aniseed) is a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region and southwest Asia. Anise is sweet and very aromatic. It contains liquorice-like components. It adds wonderful flavor to any type of dish and is used in many ethnic beverages. The oils can even be used as aromatherapy to help treat colds and flu.

I used this in keto seed crackers it seemed to get lost in the rest of the seeds. Next, will make cookies with no other seeds, to see if the flavor is more pronounced.

I use the Anise seeds for baking Italian sesame cookies. My cookies are loved near and far and my recipe has been requested each time someone eats a cookie. A long-time family recipe.
