Anise Seed



Whole anise seed (aniseed) is a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region and southwest Asia. Anise is sweet and very aromatic. It contains liquorice-like components. It adds wonderful flavor to any type of dish and is used in many ethnic beverages. The oils can even be used as aromatherapy to help treat colds and flu.
