I used a handful Porcini's in my meat and veggie soup this weekend. I also used the water (strained) I soaked them as part of the broth. WOW, it had so much depth in flavor. Really added a richness to the soup. Very pleased!

I love these mushrooms. I add a hand full to just about everything I am cooking.

Does not contain truffle, only “aroma” and olive oil. This is a chemical made to smell like truffles. Very unhappy with this product.

These were tough and fibrous no matter how long I soaked or stewed them. Would not buy again.

Seems bitter to me.

The truffle part is so mild. We could hardly taste it! Taste mostly like olive oil.

Excellent in soup

If you're looking for a similar aroma and flavor of porcini mushrooms , buy these as the flavor can't be beaten for the price. In the USA, most stores do not carry porcini mushrooms and if they do their origin is from China so I'm not sure exactly which variety I am getting. I have not had any issues with the quality. They're fairly clean and full of a distinct aroma. If using the mushroom water I did notice that these mushrooms create a darker and Cloudier are broth that will leave speckles on the pasta. I it is not great as I have strained through a filter and left overnight but there is a characteristic with this compared to the once I've purchased in the supermarket. When making my sauce, side by side with the supermarket ones, the gravy from the supermarket was more of a sand color and more translucent while as the Chilean variety as more of a coffee with cream color and some more noticeable speckles that will stick to the pasta. I would not say this is a bad thing but I had a chef say that it looked muddier. At this price I am fine with that and think that it adds a little more interest the blank canvas of the light pasta. I'm a little disappointing it no longer comes in a plastic container which I used to put in the freezer. The bag is fine I guess. Maybe it's better but I just cannot expect it to come in bag.

I love mushroom stew, soup, and creamy garlic mushrooms on toast (a British delicacy). These dried mushrooms add a depth of flavor to my favorite dishes that fresh ones cannot.

4 ounces is a lot more than you may think so we had one heck of a laugh when we unpacked the 4 huge containers I bought! These are perfect

ground some up for different rubs and seasonings for meat, poultry and fish, wow it brightens these up. have not used large pieces yet but I see good things coming!

The Porcini mushrooms are great. They give a wonderful mushroom flavor to so many of our Czech recipes. Today, they're going into Hungarian Mushroom Soup to boost the wonderful mushroom flavor that fresh mushrooms alone cannot give. The service, as always, was outstanding.

I grew up with and love dried porcini mushrooms. I was born in Parma, Italy where some of the best tasting are picked and grown. As as child, I did this very thing until I moved out of my parents house after I got married, so, I would say, I am very familiar with the Italian porcini. As stated in the description, these are from Chile and are different variety of porcini. When comparing them to the ones from Italy, these are not quite as flavorful nor do they have quite the same aroma. I have to use more in my dishes for the same amount of 'kick'. Another issue is that they do not have quite the same taste. The Italian porcini are more "buttery" in flavor. Now, having said all that, I still find them very good in their own right. I use them in conjunction with the Italian porcini and I find them complimentary.

A great addition to crock pot soups and stews. I can easily break the bigger pieces down to bite size, which is a big plus. Not every dried mushroom is so easy to break down, e.g. Dried maitakes.

Just as advertised. They made some good porcini rub for steaks.

Healthy and great in homemade soups. But they are difficult to break apart into smaller pieces.

I just received my Porcini shrooms, look and smell terrific. I like the packaging, sealed in a resealable pouch. Surprised that it took FEDEX six plus days to deliver from approximately 150 miles away to the USPS in my town, not NUTS's fault. I will give another review about the product after I use the Porcinis. Also love the packaging, this Company knows how to have fun!!!

Nicely packaged in seal-top bags, good, strong odor, good looking specimens. Am using some as I type these remarks in a stock pot including chicken thighs, onion, garlic and whole peppercorns. Porcinis contribute to the stock's richness. I'll try reconstituting some soon as something to nibble on.

These mushrooms are wonderful. They add an additional flavor to meat sauce.

These are the best dried mushrooms for the price- almost anywhere! I haven't ordered for awhile from Nuts.com and had forgotten how awesome the products are. Very fast shipping and all expectations were met. That little "extra" (this time dried apricots) that is included in each of their packages, kind of makes a person feel special :)! Thank you.

A true indulgence - can't tell you how happy I am that you offer this fine oil..... its absolutely tops! The flavour is wonderful, and I was genuinely surprised at how LARGE the bottle is. Enough for several fine dishes, and at such a reasonable price! This is a wonderful buy!!!

Excellent for cream of mushroom soup and risotto. Can't wait to try mushroom strudel...I'll let you know how this experiment goes.

They are wonderful. We add them to our vegetable soup with miso. Delish!

These are PERFECT if that word applies to dried fungus...we go through this package in a couple of months. How you ask? Well, if you are short of cash and long on appetite (we are) they can be reconstituted and added to stir fry, soup, risotto, farro, spaghetti sauce (really nice if you don't have cash for ground meat), meatballs (if you do have cash for meat), etc., etc. It's a way to add nutrients and unami (spelling?) flavor. You can add them whole, break them up in small pieces or powder them (I use a mortar and pestle) to sub in the meat like flavor. I only do the last one if they are still in dried form, of course. The price looks a bit high, but it's not. Fresh in the store you could easily pay 2/3 of this price and only have it for that week. Dried, you can use as needed and they keep without spoiling. These along with a couple of the others are now a staple at our house throughout the year and at the fall and winter holidays. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from the stove and they will be with you until consumed. Yum!

Fresh Maitake is the best. However, I can't find fresh one in my area, so I bought it. It wasn't soft enough after cooking, but it gave fabulous flavor to my dish!

Delicious and GREAT price!!! These make such a wonderful "flavor" add in enhancement to veggie stews and such if you like meat flavor without the meat.

These are awesome to always have in the pantry for those days when I forget to buy mushrooms at the store.

I had tried many of your products at mt sister's house, but was fortunate enough to receive a $100 gift card...and I went wild! i can't talk about everything, but I want to praise the White Truffle Oil. It's outrageous! I drizzle it in soups, on roasted veggies, or pour some on a plate with a little cracked pepper and dip pita bread into it. Great product!

These look lovely, nice sized slices, not crumbled up as far as I can see and smell as they should.. musky mushroomy smell with no signs of any other intruders. I gently shook the container and saw now major signs of excessive dirt either. I am very pleased.

We didn't try anything yet, except the sample of cashews, which were the best cashews we have ever had. They will be on our next order.
